Call for 2020 Graduate Programs for International Students

Introduction
Founded in May 2013, Sino-Africa Joint Research Center (SAJOREC) is the first overseas institution constructed by the Chinese Government for comprehensive scientific research and education under the framework of CAS’s Developing Countries Science & Education Cooperation Programme.
With top-level labs and a qualified faculty team, each year SAJOREC admits 30 African students through the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS)’s Graduate Programs. About 30% of the masters could be admitted to a PhD program through the Students Selection and Evaluation System. Since 2013, 200 African students have been awarded a fellowship to study at SAJOREC. All of them are supported by full scholarships through graduate programs.
Graduate Programs
※Master’s Programs
In 2020, UCAS provides over 200 Master’s programs that last for 3 years. Certificates of graduation and degrees will be awarded to those who have met the requirements of graduation and degree conferment.

※Doctoral Programs
Doctoral programs commonly last for 3-4 years. Certificates of graduation and degrees will be awarded to those who have met the requirements of graduation and degree conferment.
※Visiting Students Programs
The schooling system for visiting students ranges from 1 semester to 2 years. A non-degree certificate of study can be awarded if the visiting student successfully finishes his/her study at UCAS. Official transcripts are also available upon request.
Scholarships
※UCAS Scholarship
The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) has set up the UCAS Scholarship for International Students to sponsor young talents all over the world to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degree, or attend courses, conduct research or pay academic visits at UCAS faculties/CAS institutes.
※The ANSO Scholarship for International Students
This program provides full scholarships to 335 outstanding young students, which includes 190 PhD students and 145 master students from all over the world to pursue graduate degrees at the university of the UCAS each year.
※Chinese Government Scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship sponsor international students to study at Chinese universities. The scholarship offers fee waivers of admission application and tuition, health insurance, on-campus accommodation, etc.
General Qualifications
(1) Being a non-Chinese citizen;
(2) Being in good health, of good character, and willing to abide by China's laws and decrees, as well as UCAS’s rules and regulations;
(3) Holding a Master’s degree or its equivalent when applying for a PhD Program; holding a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent when applying for a Master Program;
(4) Being proficient in English.
Application Guideline
(1) Check eligibility criteria;
(2) Find an eligible host supervisor affiliated with a UCAS faculty or CAS institute that agrees to accept you;
(3) Submit your admission application via the online system;

Evaluation and Admission
Admission is determined at the level of UCAS school/CAS institute with oversight by UCAS according to the result of the document review, interview, and other factors. Admission Notices, Visa Application Forms and some other documents will be sent to the admitted students after the final admission result is released.
