As a result of the persistent efforts of the entire WBG staff over the years, its construction of scientific research platform has achieved significant breakthrough.
Recently, WBG received official approvals from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, authorizing the establishment of the CAS Key Laboratory of Aquatic Plants and Watershed Ecology, Hubei Key Laboratory of Wetland Evolution and Ecological Restoration.
Since initiation of the Knowledge Innovation Project, Wuhan Botanical Garden has been focusing on the innovation objectives of science and technology, continuously improving sci-tech innovation ability, leading to a remarkable achievement on the independent scientific and technological innovation capacity, the construction of a contingent of talents, facilities and platform system.
Particularly, the regional advantages and waterscape features are highlighted. A notable progress has been made in the protection of aquatic plant resources and aquatic ecosystem improvement.
The breakthrough in constrction of the sci-tech innovation platform will greatly inspire and encourage the independent innovation of science and technology in the WBG.
While vigorously building and improving the laboratories, Wuhan Botanical Garden will continue to play its internationally leading role in conservation and sustainable use of plant diversity with water resource protection as the focus, thereby making greater contribution to the national security of ecology and the sustainable development of society and economy.
