On Dec 21, 2008, the ceremony of granting Dr. Zhang Quanfa, Dr. Li Wei, Dr. Ding Jianqing and Dr. Liu Guihua as guest professors of China University of Geology (Wuhan) was held in Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The ceremony was performed by the vice president of China University of geology (Wuhan).

Vice president, Prof. Wang Yanxin on behalf of China University of Geology (Wuhan) granted Guest Professor Certificates to Drs. Zhang, Li, Ding and and Liu. The guest professor, Dr. Zhang Quanfa expressed in his speech that he was greatly honored to be a visiting professor of the China University of Geology. It is also a great responsibility, in the future, he will make more efforts to contribute to the China University of Geology.

Vice president, Prof. Wang Yanxin expressed his appreciation to the four scientists for their outstanding achievements in scientific research, and his hope that this appointment will serve as an opportunity to improve the competitiveness in biology of the China University of Geology, and the cooperation between the CAS Wuhan Botanical Garden and the China University of Geology (Wuhan) will be further enhanced and expanded, thus becoming a paragon of scientific research institution-University cooperation in a process of mutual promotion and improvement.

Upon Closing, the two parties had an in-depth discussion on the joint-application for Hubei Key Laboratory, and looked into the future development trend.
