Prof. Lars G. Rudstam Delivers Lecture at WBG

Prof. Lars G. Rudstam at Cornell University visited Wuhan Botanical Garden on February 23. His visit was at the invitation of Prof. WANG Qingfeng.

Prof. Rudstam delivered a lecture entitled “Invasive species and sustainable use of freshwater lakes in the USA: examples with plants and mussels in New York State” to the staff and students. He explained the invasion of aquatic plants in New York as well as the effects of mussels on water quality purification. In addition, Prof. Rudstam also introduces the heavy metal pollution recovery in Onondaga Lake, which is located northwest of Syracuse, New York.

Prof. Rudstam is currently conducting research on fisheries and aquatic ecology in New York State with a focus on Oneida Lake. He is also the director of the Biological Field Station of Cornell University.
