Prof. Stuart Bunn Visits WBG

Prof. Stuart Bunn with Australian Rivers Institute at University of Griffith (ARI) visited Wuhan Botanical Garden (WBG) on Mar. 2. His visit was at the invitation of Prof. ZHANG Quanfa.

Prof. Stuart Bunn is the director of ARI. His research interests include patterns of energy flux in aquatic systems, ecology of stream invertebrate and fish communities, and influence of flow regimes on aquatic biodiversity. According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between WBG and ARI last year, the two parties will carry out joint research on watershed ecology, wetland protection, and aquatic biodiversity. Both parties will also cooperate in training and supervision of graduate students.

Prof. Stuart Bunn delivered a lecture entitled “Environmental flows and river health” during his visit. He explained the impact of global warming on water resources and fish species diversity. In addition, he also shared with the audience his opinion on the changes in the water flow in Australia.
