Prof. Richard N. Mack Visits WBG

Prof. Richard N. Mack from Washington State University visited Wuhan Botanical Garden (WBG) during May 24-28. His visit was at the invitation of Prof. DING Jianqing.
Prof. Mack delivered a training course on scientific paper writing and an academic lecture entitled “Phylogenetic constraints, absent life forms and pre-adapted alien plants: a prescription for biological invasion”. The topics of the training course include the structure of a scientific paper, common errors in sentence structure of English and how to deal with the comments received from the editor and reviewers of a journal. During his visit, Prof. Mack also worked with students individually to help them with their manuscripts. .
Prof. Mack is a guest professor of WBG. He is primarily interested in biological invasions, particularly plant invasions. In addition, Prof. Mack provides editorial service for several international journals, such as Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment.
