A delegation of National Museums of Kenya (NMK), leaded by the Director General Dr. Ahmed Yassin, visited Wuhan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (WBG, CAS) on December 18th, 2014 at the invitation of Sino-Africa Joint Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The delegation of NMK and some researchers from CAS held talks on bilateral cooperation. The welcoming and opening remarks were given by the Deputy-director WANG Qingfeng. He gave a general introduction of the scientific research, resource conservation, popular science education and international cooperation of WBG. Director of the Research and Collection of NMK, Dr. Geoffrey Mwachala Mwandoe, briefly introduced the history and the current situation of NMK.

Some participants made presentations on areas or directions. Based on these, the two parties reached a consensus about scientific cooperation, training technicians and students-exchange. Some details of cooperation between NMK and Sino-Africa Joint Research Center also discussed in depth during the visit.

All members of NMK delegation, some professors from WBG, Kunming Institute of Botany, Institute of Botany, Institute of Hydrobiology, and Wuhan Institute of Virology attended this talk.

NMK guests also visited the dormitory of Kenyan students and communicated with them.
