WBG and Tibet University Strengthens Cooperation on Education and Scientific Research

On May 8, MENG Fangbing, Vice President of Tibet University, visited Wuhan Botanical Garden (WBG). The symposium on graduate students joint training and scientific research cooperation was held. LIU Xing, Associate Dean of the College of Life Sciences of Wuhan University attended the symposium. WANG Qingfeng, Deputy Director of WBG, welcomed the guests on behalf of WBG.
LIU Guihua, Head of Research Business Office, delivered a report, in which he gave an overview of WBG, introduced the deployment of ecology discipline, the cooperation progress of WBG and Tibet University, and put forward some suggestions on the future cooperation.
MENG Fangbing briefly introduced Tibet University and the development of ecology research. He spoke highly of the achievements between Tibet University and WBG in graduate students joint training, hoping to cultivate more talents committed to Tibet development. He suggested that the two sides could strengthen cooperation through joint application for scientific research projects and regular academic exchanges.
Researchers from research centers of WBG and guests further exchanged ideas over ecology research and talents training and so on. WANG Qingfeng listened to and interacted with them. He said that WBG has a strong desire to further deepen cooperation in the field of research and talents training by setting up special scientific research projects of Tibet, holding regular academic seminars, implementing dual tutorial system for joint training students.
Since the signature of “Framework Agreement on Collaborative Innovation of Science and Education” between WBG and Tibet University on March 25, 2017, there are three Ph.D students and 30 postgraduates under the joint training program.
