In 2008, Wuhan Botanical Garden newly increased three international cooperation projects, of which, “Evaluation on restoration effects of environmental currents and wetlands vegetation" obtained 80,000 Yuan granted by WWF, “ conservation biology research of Thuja was granted 150,000 Yuan by FFI fund. The research group of invasion biology carried out five cooperative projects in cooperation with the agricultural research institute of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Forestry Bureau, with the contract worth 500,000 dollars, and the project of “Invasion Mechanism and Biological Control of Giant Knotweed” was conducted in cooperation with U.S. Forest Service, with a total fund of 100,000 dollars.
